Missions

“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8)

We believe in order to “do justice” we must seek to meet the practical and spiritual needs of those in our local community, as well as those in other nations.

GLOBAL

We value international missions.  Many of our young adults & congregation have been involved with short-term missions and training programs.

Over the last 44 years Father’s House Atascadero has sent individuals to over 50 nations. We believe that the words of Jesus in Matthew 28 to “go into all the world and make disciples of all nations” are for all Christians, not just full time missionaries.

We have sent church teams to Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina, San Francisco, Mexico, Russia, Thailand, Cambodia and Greece.

Whether you go across town, or go across the world, we want to see our church body moving in a missional mindset to reach others with the love of Jesus.

LOCAL

Our Father’s House value, "Helping is our Mission”, is the filter we use to guide our efforts and finances to reach out practically to our local community. We have targeted two spheres of our community to focus our efforts on - education and community support services. Santa Rosa Elementary and Paloma High Schools are our ‘adopted’ schools. Every fall we partner with the principles on filling a felt need for the teachers and students. We also have several other connection points with them throughout the year.

  • For Christmas, we adopt a local family in need through our contacts in Social Services. Our church family rallies around this family by filling their wish lists for the children and adults: clothing, toys, practical needs, gift cards, gas cards… we get everyone in the family gifts and try to be ridiculous with our generosity.

  • Periodically we also help provide food for Echo homeless shelter, blanket and sock drives, community involvement through city events, and showing appreciation for our local peace officers.

Our Missionaries

Kami Hallquist

Kami has been serving with YWAM Cambodia for the last five years, and YWAM Montana for years before that. She overseas the Human Resources department with YWAM Battambang and is part of the base leadership team there. Kami has a heart for helping workers stay long term overseas and being a good steward of the ministry God has given them.

Juan & Hannah Smith

Juan and Hannah have been serving with YWAM Greece for six years. They have just moved to YWAM Paris and are part of the 2024 Olympic outreach hosting team. They are expecting 1000 people to flood the streets of Paris with God’s love during the Olympic Games. Juan and Hannah have a passion for the Middle East and hope to return to Greece or a country in the Middle East to continue to spread the gospel.

Jon and Stephanie Wamble have been serving with YWAM Japan for three years. They have had an extended history with YWAM in California prior to moving to Japan. Jon and Stephanie are planning to start a new YWAM location in Okinawa Japan along with their three kids, Avila, Benji, and Cedar.
